We’ve come to the end of our journey. As a fun treat and way to say thank you, everyone at The Mocha Club took us out to breakfast at The Loveless Cafe. We met bright and early then headed out for the morning. Over breakfast, we had some final time to socialize, enjoy the best biscuits in the WORLD, and reminisce on a wonderful semester of interning.
If you are looking for an internship, whether it’s artist relations, administration, communication, graphic design, or with FashionABLE, we HIGHLY recommend it! Come visit us in the office! If you’re far away, visit the Mocha Club’s Intern/Volunteer Page or comment on this blog post! We wish you the best & hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks for keeping up with us,
The Mochaterns <3
Here’s a pic of us with Jordan (from fashionABLE) & our new friend Emily enjoying cupcakes from a Nashville bakery, Gigi’s, compliments of Jordan’s dad!
A Sweet Dad + sweet cupcakes = a sweet Wednesday afternoon, YUM!!
Scarves, that is. Sometimes, the fashionABLE scarves need a little extra TLC, so Bianca and I had the privilege to hand-dye scarves. We literally drew the short straws. We put on old t-shirts, rubber gloves, and spent an hour in the basement with our hands in a bucket of warm water and scarves.
Sarah, the scarf production expert, gave us our fairly simple instructions and then we had one hour to sit and chat while making sure that the scarves remained submerged and in motion in the bucket of warm water, salt, and colored dye.
An hour later, we came back upstairs with a beautiful finished product. Bianca is holding her pride and joy, the olive mulu, and I’m modeling my hard work, the mulu tangerine!
Now we can really appreciate all of the hard work that goes into making these scarves such a masterpiece!

Much love,
The Mochaterns
Hey everyone!
It’s been quite busy over at the fashionABLE // Mocha Club offices, because we just received a HUGE shipment of scarves from Ethiopia! We’ve been working hard to get all of the scarves pressed and ready for shipment to our wonderful retailers and customers. Bianca and Vanessa got a chance to use the scarf press for the first time, and they had a lot of fun pressing all the different scarves! Although it’s been hard work, the Mochaterns have loved helping fashionABLE during this busy time of year!
Good afternoon, It’s the Mocha Club interns. Today is World Teachers’ Day, and with numerous projects supporting education in Africa, it’s an important awareness event for the Mocha Club team. Every year on October 5, people around the globe celebrate World Teachers’ Day by honoring teachers in their community. Started by Education International and UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization), World Teachers Day began in 1994 as an opportunity to recognize the importance of educators and to promote international standards for the teaching profession as a whole.
Every year, World Teachers’ Day focuses on a different theme. This year’s theme is teachers for gender equality. While many women are teachers, there are few women holding managerial positions in schools. At the same time, there is a large shortage of male teachers, and overall, there is a declining status of the teaching profession as a whole. This gender inequality in the teaching field has also led to gender stereotypes within the learning curricula. Because of all of these issues, Education International and UNESCO have felt the need to draw attention to it through World Teachers’ Day.
One of the ways that Education International and UNESCO are hoping to resolve these gender inequality issues is through teacher training programs that address gender stereotype issues. While implementing such programs in educations systems worldwide cannot happen overnight, there are many ways you can raise awareness today. Universities and schools around the world celebrate World Teachers’ Day, so make sure to join in on the celebration at your school! Take a few moments to thank your teachers, whether it be in a card or in person. Head to your blog and write about the difference that your teachers have made in your life. Teachers play such a vital role in our development, and today is the perfect day to show your thanks.
While many of us have had the wonderful opportunity to receive a quality education and have been able to continue to learn at universities worldwide, don’t forget that many children are deprived of this experience that we consider a normal part of life. Injustices and poverty prevent schools from even existing in many countries, and with today’s focus on honoring teachers and the education they provide, there’s no better way to help than by joining the Mocha Club Education project. Help us build schools and eradicate the lack of education in Africa. You’ll not only help us provide teaching positions for many men and women, but more importantly, you’ll help us provide an education to children who deserve the right to choose their path in life.
You haven’t experienced Nashville until you’ve explored the Nashville food truck scene!
It’s the Mocha Club interns here to share our first food truck experience today at the Grilled Cheeserie!
Bianca had been itching to try the Grilled Cheeserie, so she suggested we make it our Friday Fun Day outing!
We checked out the Grilled Cheeserie online, and they post their daily location in Nashville through their Twitter account. It’s like a little scavenger hunt to find the food truck!
Marisa and Emily, who are experienced Grilled Cheeserie eaters, showed us the ropes and suggested the best sandwiches. Macayla, one of the Mocha Club staff members, joined us to experience the Grilled Cheeserie for her first time too!
The truck was parked in the lot of a local hardware showroom, so once we ordered, we just staked out a spot in the parking lot and had ourselves a little picnic!
The grilled cheese sandwiches were all so delicious, and we all tried sandwiches that each had a different twist on the traditional grilled cheese sandwich.
All in all, the field trip to the Grilled Cheeserie was a big success!
Stay tuned for more Mocha Club intern fun!
Enjoy your weekend! Much love,
The Mochaterns
YUM! Vanessa made brownies this week, and Bianca ate them (no, not the entire pan).
The Mocha Club interns here, sorry we haven’t posted yet! Luckily for you, that is going to change right now.
Starting a job with new people can be stressful. Fears like not fitting in, not knowing what to do or say, or even not liking the new coworkers somehow creep in. The good news, we interns discovered a solution to all of those things (and found out we have a lot in common, too)!
Step One: Discover that almost everyone loves sweets :)
Step Two: Bring some to the office.
Easy peasy! You fit in, make conversation, and realize that you have a lot in common with the rest of the people at the office. New friends are made, and delicious food is had by all. Stay tuned for more excitement from us, there’s always something exciting going on!
Hope you have a wonderful day! Much love,
The Mochaterns
Our fall interns are here and having a blast! They’ve already made themselves right at home and dug into important projects.
You’ll meet each of them next week on the Mocha Club blog.
At last…the MochaTernz SINGALONG RAP!
It’s not the version we wanted (THAT one included doo rags, beat-bopping heads, and a background beat). Since this is our last day here at Mocha Club, this less-than-awesome version will have to do. Thank goodness for Elayna the Intern and her willingness to sacrifice any type of social dignity by subjecting herself to being ostracized by the public.
The ‘Ternz can’t believe it is the end. This has been a season of growth—growing in our career aspirations, growing together as a team, spiritual growth and encouragement, and growth of our tummies after all those Fun Fridays. Worth it. Until next time, Nashville…lots of frothy Mocha love.
