DB at the Fro Mo
So, my mom is in town from California for a few days and I had to take her to one of my favorite coffee shops, Frothy Monkey, for breakfast. (My bff was there, too. You’re welcome, Topher). We walked in and the first person I saw was none other than the man, the myth, the legend, the Dave Barnes. Not only is he a Mocha Club artist, he is also reallyyyyy funny. If you don’t believe me, read his blog here. (Especially the two posts about spelling corrections his iPhone has made. AMAZING.) Or watch some of his YouTube videos here.
He was talking to someone the entire time so I had to sit and make small talk with Topher and my mom until he was done. But I’m JK :). So finally their convo ended 8 years later, so I walked over to his table, and naturally, I started with the awesome and/or awkward ice breaker, “Hey Dave, I love your music. And I’m a Mocha Club Intern!” Then continued to tell him how much me and the other interns love his previously mentioned blog and YouTube videos. Anddd I may have told him that he should probably come in and play a song for us (like Andrew Ripp did on Monday morning) in the office. I mean, only if he ever wants his career to take off. (I didn’t say that to him, though. And that’s not true at all, for those of you not familiar with Dave. He’s one of the biggest non-country musicians in Nashville. And Billy Currington just cut his song “Until You” for his album that just came out. He’s kind of a big deal.)
I just figured that the 8 of you who read this blog were dying to know how my Wednesday morning was, so you’re all welcome for the update :) I hope all of you are having an equally awesome Wednesday!
