parting thoughts…
a lot has happened in the last 4.5 months we’ve been together as interns —- in many ways it’s hard to believe our time together has already come to an end. time truly does fly when you’re having fun; but to be able to serve others and create change in the lives of the others while having fun…well, that’s what we call a pretty incredible opportunity.
from Jordan: After meeting Barrett and his daughter Howie at an event at Belmont, I knew I wanted to get involved with fashionABLE. His heart for the women in Ethiopia who make these beautiful scarves was contagious. Interning at fashionABLE / Mocha Club has been the most unbelievable experience for me. It’s been such a blessing to work with such great people and work for an organization that is so passionate about their mission to serve others. fashionABLE is doing big things—and I’m so thankful to have been involved in a small way.
from Lindsey: I can say with all honesty and sincerity that the last fourth months have been some of my most favorite. I loved working alongside Mocha Club / fashionABLE and I loved the people I had the privilege of working with. And maybe I shouldn’t admit this, but I actually preferred weekdays over weekend —- can you imagine that? Best internship ever!
from Madison: Matt Wertz started me down a path 5 years ago and he doesn’t even know it. He shared of an organization committed to love people in Africa and serve them through the simple gift of $7, and somewhere inside me he touched a nerve. It’s a bit ironic to look back and remember that moment now, to remember who and where I was when I first discovered the Mocha Club —- and now fast forward 5 years and here I sit, having finished an invaluable internship with this organization that I have come to truly love. Being a part of the Mocha Club / fashionABLE family these last few months has been an honor & an experience I will forever be grateful for. Serving my friends in Africa, making new friends in Nashville, and learning so much while doing both…not to mention having way too much fun…yep, it was pretty wonderful.
parting ways with smiles on our faces & joy in our hearts.
