in addition to two “fashion” shoots with pro photographers & models wearing fashionABLE scarves for the fashionABLE Web site, our team was also charged with the task of setting up and photographing a fashionABLE store display. the purpose of this shoot was to gather several images to include in a “line sheet” —a document used in the fashion industry to provide information on products — to be passed out to potential retailers interested in carrying fashionABLE scarves & spreading the fashionABLE story.

as someone who has always LOVED setting up displays & regularly finds herself gaping at beautiful windows and mumbling “i want to do that,” — i was all over this assignment! Tiffany, the lovely owner of Nashville Clothing Co., graciously opened her store up early one morning and Marisa & I got to work before our one and only Lindsay arrived as photographer for the day. 30 minutes from start to finish, we were all quite pleased with our final product!

joys, Madison

A new beginning…

Overwhelmed. Excited. Passionate. Fearful? Overjoyed!

These are the emotions that are spinning through my mind at the current moment.

Where to start?

Well, starters, this is Whitney, your favorite red-headed Mochatern!

The road that has brought me to Mocha Club has been nothing short of life-changing. How cliché… mais ce n’est pas un problème. [I’ll randomly think in French but normally it’s completely irrelevant, so don’t mind me.]

I’m currently in my Junior year at Belmont University. This time last year, I knew that I needed to start getting involved in the Belmont community and find my niche. I joined a team called SIFE, entering blindly and having no idea what to expect. Students in Free Enterprise. An organization that builds teams in colleges across the nation… and the world for that matter… to equip students with the skill sets to manage the business side of non-profits, and immediately implement these skills in the real world.

Each SIFE team has a number of projects that they work on continuously throughout the year, and present their projects at a regional competition, and then a national competition. In the 2010 competition, Belmont University, out of 600 teams, won first place in nationals! In October we’ll be representing the United States in the World Cup.

So you’re thinking… how is this at all relevant to Mocha Club? Well… this year, SIFE has decided to partner with Mocha Club // fashionABLE and build us a business model for our exciting new project with the scarves from Ethiopia.

To be able to be a part of SIFE, which is such an amazing & educational organization, and have the opportunity to provide Mocha Club with necessary business skills to have fashionABLE explode is probably the most amazing feeling in the world.

Everyone working on this project is incredibly inspiring and I’m so, so thrilled to have the opportunity to bounce ideas around with other interns, other SIFE members, and all of our amazing leaders and mentors.

Well, I’ve completely lost focus on what I was saying because in the past 5 minutes I was asked to talk about my hometown for the Mochatern 10 seconds… and well… you’ll see what’s up.

Groses bises!!!!

Whit xx
