A look at The Mocha Club through the eyes of the interns
The New Crew
Hey all!
An official welcome to SUMMER 2012! Kicking off the summer alongside the humidity and abundant sunshine, we introduce to you our newest batch of interns.
Interns come and go, and we know you have seen pictures on pictures and posts on posts about the endeavours of an intern but we want to take a tad bit of a different spin, if you will, on this “Mochatern” blog we’ve got going here.
If you check out Mocha Club’s homepage http://themochaclub.org, you can see personal profiles, pictures and information on each intern that is here for the summer. There is 6 of us so trust me, over the course of the summer, there is sure to be adventures, shenanigans, projects, stories, pictures, videos and more. You just wait and see.
Our different spin, per se, is to alter this mochatern blog into a platform to really capture a couple massively important things; first, the heart and mission of Mocha Club, and secondly, to express not only the behind-the-scenes detailed daily life of a Mocha Club/fashionABLE intern, but to tell you, through stories, pictures and videos, the purpose of our role here at Mocha Club and why we are here serving our summer time in Nashville, Tenn.
Here’s a sneak peak at some things we’ve accomplished here at the intern nook, if you will:
Day 1: Interns arrived for some coffee, bagels & a huge introduction to Mocha Club staff and their roles for the summer! Back Row L to R: Alexis, Carter, Lindsay and Front Row L to R: Blythe, Katelyn, Michael.
Day 3: Marisa and the Mocha Club crew gave us interns a mini-project, aka taking scarf scraps and turning them into bracelets, headbands, necklaces to possibly sell at Mocha Club’s 7th Birthday Party event this coming August!
Day 4: Last but not least, this little intern nook needed some “character” to say the least. So with our talents, brains and resources, we turned our nook into a cozy, home sweet home included but not limited to a scarf fire, handmade scarf curtains (guarantee you Anthropologie has these for 100+ bucks), individual and family pictures above the fire.
We’re currently discussing new additions to our home sweet home. Thinking about adding some paintings, canvas, photos, inspirational quotes, lamps, frozen yogurt machine (just kidding…but seriously).
So stinking thankful for the warm and welcoming Mocha Club/fashionABLE staff for loving us ”newbie” interns and teaching us your ways. We are all TRULY honored and so blessed to be a part of your team, vision, crew and can’t wait to see what this summer has in store for Mocha Club/fashionABLE and how we can help!
Until the next intern shares a crazy story or feels the urge to journal, Adios from the Clubhouse 7 (self-labeled name for our crew, which will make sense when we get our seventh member, Billy the Beta Fish, tomorrow).
in addition to two “fashion” shoots with pro photographers & models wearing fashionABLE scarves for the fashionABLE Web site, our team was also charged with the task of setting up and photographing a fashionABLE store display. the purpose of this shoot was to gather several images to include in a “line sheet” —a document used in the fashion industry to provide information on products — to be passed out to potential retailers interested in carrying fashionABLE scarves & spreading the fashionABLE story.
as someone who has always LOVED setting up displays & regularly finds herself gaping at beautiful windows and mumbling “i want to do that,” — i was all over this assignment! Tiffany, the lovely owner of Nashville Clothing Co., graciously opened her store up early one morning and Marisa & I got to work before our one and only Lindsay arrived as photographer for the day. 30 minutes from start to finish, we were all quite pleased with our final product!

TRIAD (n.): three terrific ‘terns.
Greetings from the Mocha Club/fashionABLE office — Madison here!
Your fearless new interns — Jordan, Lindsey & I — are nearing the end of our first week here in Nashville & in honor of our first week together we thought it only fitting to give ourselves a little “team” name. Drumroll, please…may we present to you TRIAD: three terrific ‘terns. Triumvirate was in the running for a total of 14 seconds before it proved to be quite the tongue twister.Trifecta was also a strong contender before a quick dictionary.com search gave us a definition involving betting on a horse race…huh? So TRIAD it is. Triad simply means “a group of three associated entities or objects.” The way we see it, we are three individual entities associated together as Mochaterns…it works, right?
I think I can speak on behalf of the other gals when I say we are all thrilled to be here & are looking oh-so-forward to being a part of the Mocha Club/fashionABLE team in the months ahead. To be a part of an organization created for the sole purpose of blessing the lives of others…it doesn’t get more inspiring than that. Add in the fact that the Mocha Club staff is composed of 5 stellar individuals who are a pleasure to be around and we couldn’t ask for a better work environment. We’re honored to be here, seriously.
If you will, please consider this your official invite to join us on our journey over the next few months. We’ll do our best to give you a peek behind the scenes here at the office, to share inspiring tid-bits and golden nuggets we think you might enjoy, and perhaps even provide a laugh or two every once in a while! And let’s not forget about our wonderful Campus Reps and Mocha Club artists we’ll also be keeping “tabs” on too!
